Default AC question

Does anyone else notice when using the AC that cold water (condensation presumably) runs from somewhere behind the dash and drips into the passenger footwell, or is it just my car? Can make quite a puddle if used extensively.

If you do a quick search for puddles in the floorwell. I remember seeing a bit about this as I get vapour trails coming from my vents on occassions and was alarmed - never seen it happen on any other car I have driven with AC but told it is normal.

The person that had a pool of water had a kink in their outlet pipe that runs behind the dash over and the pasenger footwell.

I am afriad I don't know more than that but it is def. there if you do a search

Hope this helps

I'm off to do a quick trawl - thanks. I once had a Nissan Sunny when I worked abroad that had AC (when you switched it on the engine all but died ) and that had a habit of making my car look like an imitation set of Top of the Pops

I use my AC and sometimes get a small puddle of water underneath the car but I assume this is normal as the cold water pipes condensate.
None in the car though...

I notice your car's an early one. I've a vague memory that some early cars didn't have a hose correctly connected in the passenger footwell, resulting in water getting in. Only a vague memory though, and I've no idea which hose it was.

Brian is quite right, flexi hose above passanger's feet can get knocked off resulting in the condensed water entering the car and not going straight onto the road. Its quite obvious where it should go so push it back on and use a cable tie to keep it there.

I sometimes get what looks like dry ice coming through the vents. Dealer says it's ok.
