Acid in the dust?

I've also found evidence of etching, not dissimilar to bird droppings - thankfully caught in time a light polish removes it.

Mines had dust sat on it since monday but it doesn't appear to have left any etchings, maybe the fallout was different in different parts of the country?

Perhaps the addition of water is a factor. It has etched "ripple" marks on mine.

its not rained here but the car is dusty. saw that documentary about flight 9 and they had some of the dust and showed how abrasive it was by just rubbing it was fingers on paint - scratched it to hell

jetwash the way forwards for this weekend!

You don't need rain, remember you get morning dew on the car - this is all the water required.

There is other dust around as well as the volcanic stuff.

My car was dusty for a couple of days. I have washed mine and all is well.

dunno unc... i get up pretty early (leave the house at 6.30am) and the car isn't wet and when i park up at 9pm ish it's still dry

who knows.. when i wash it i should know i guess
