Default Advice Needed

Hi i'm after a little bit of advice.

I took my car to a local garage to gets its MOT done and at the same time i asked them to look at the rear drivers side wheel. The drivers side wheel was squeaking under braking (assumed to be caliper). They had a look and booked it in a week later to replace the caliper.

I picked the S up after the MOT and stupidly didnt really give it a once over. Turns out they have damaged the front bumper (scuffed and scratch underside and a few scratches on bumper itself).

But i didnt notice until a few days later. I thought i would leave it until next time i went in there (another two days) to mention it as i didnt notice it next day.

I dropped the car off before they opened (so no-one to speak to). When i went back in the afternoon to pick it up i explained the situation and she said she'd have to get the manager to look at it but as i didnt mention it next day they would have to take a look and see. He was appparently unwilling or too busy doing MOT's and told me to come back tomorrow.

I then asked if i could have my old caliper back as i have paid for a new one and they said it had to go back to the supplier. I then asked to see the invoice for the caliper whereupon the garage will recieve

If it were me I would ask them straight out "do you think this is the sort of service that you wish your customers to be telling everyone about"?

I would ask them to outline exactly what they planned to do about the list of items you have written down for them and what timescales you can expect them to be sorted by.

If the response is positive then great, let them get on with it and forgive and forget. (no offence meant here but they didn

Pretty crap

The bumper is a tricky one - it's difficult to prove.

The caliper is a bit more clear cut. I'd get the old one put back on while you are present to watch it, and get a full refund due to dishonesty and not fixing the problem.

Totally out of order that they have fitted a refurb and made money on your old one.

Unfortunately you sometimes leave yourself open to this when you go non Honda.

Honda can screw things up like the best of them, but at least they won't do you over like that, and you have more come back.

Back to the squeak though, is it when cornering? High or low speeds? Only when braking?
