Default AFR Sensor / O2 Sensor

Humour me, they are the same aren't they?

Assuming yes.......

I've been quoted £255 to replace what I think is the Primary one, Honda quote P/N 36531-PZX-013 for a MY06. I've searched and Davey2 has quoted P/N 36531-PCX-004 and I can find that for £50 (with plug). It seems other O2 topics just replace it with a generic from somewhere like Cats Direct. I've been in conversation with Eco Lambda and they can't match that part number with anything from their catalog.

So my question is how interchangeable are these, the part alone from Honda is £157+VAT? and the car seems to drive perfectly, Honda pulled 3 codes on the 1st attempt and plumped for the AFR on the 2nd attempt.

Thanks

First thing is to identify if you really do need one.

Do you have a check engine light on? What were the codes? In my experience, Honda dealers don't know their arse from their elbow wrt fault diagnosis, and unfortunately it's to your cost when sometimes parts are recommended when they aren't required.

Let us know the symptoms and codes first

If you do, then a fair few people just go for one from cats direct (4 wire) You will just need to chop your old lambda plug off, as they come with bare wires. Someone recently got a cheap one with connectors IIRC.

Thanks Mark,
Yes the CEL is on, been reset twice and comes back on.

It's been to Honda twice the first time 3 codes were pulled, I don't quite trust that the codes have been transcribed properly, from the job sheet:
1. 61-10 A/F Sensor S1 Range circuit performance
2. 83-1 ECM/PCM Relation failure
3. B1177 Abnormal battery voltage

On the second visit they said N/STK Sensor, Air Fue

I've found a plug-and-play one here

It's part number compatability that confuses, I'm pretty sure they are fairly generic

Remember a few folk have had problems because of the response time with some of the cheaper ones, me and 'Shepp' did. The car kangaroo's with some of them on cold/colder startup. Personally i dont like these cheap generic ones, some people get problems some dont.

Seems a walker one is the best good quality/price one.

Have a search it in a few threads.
