Default Ageing

Autoexpress Christmas edition, Sports Convertibles:

1st: Nissan 350Z
2nd: BMW Z4
3rd: Honda S2000 - described as "aging"

I think that's not a bad achievement given the age of the design compared to the other 2 and how car journalists tend to like the newest designs.

So classic status soon. Just need them to stop production...

Would've been a right blow if it'd come fourth!

Funny thing, opinion: I remember how Honda's 'ageing' NSX suddenly became 'timeless' and 'hadn't really dated in fifteen years'

Revisionist history is the euphemism.

"Aging" - How I hate this, it's "Ageing". Almost as annoying as "oriented" rather than "orientated".

And don't get me started on "definately".

Agging: Punk-era abbreviation of 'aggravating'.

About right!

What about 'awesome'? Even more damning IMO than 'nice'!

wishful thinking

it will go to bangerdom before/if achieving classic status

it's already started - look at the number of dodgy cars out there

if it can happen to the E-type, it will certainly happen to the S

in fact I worry for the long term preservation of moderns

see my other thread

how many cutting edge 80s cars are still around and regarded as classics

even if you have one, the market is tiny, and values tend to be low

'Cutting edge' is the nub;

The market is saturated with everyone doing exactly what everyone else is doing: Land Rover sports cars, etc.

No-one has really done anything new in 15 years.

Cars are just like old fridges now; hang onto it whilst it's working, then lob it at some pikeys.
