HKS state that engine power is directly related to the amount of air an engine can take in and expel. Therefore, one of the easiest and least expensive ways to increase the horsepower of any engine is to improve the airflow into the cylinders

thats only true if what you have is restrictive, it makes no difference if your filter can flow twice as much as the OEM if the OEM is flowing more than the engine requires, The OEM filter is a good one look at the two base plates the rubber one is a very well known brand cotton filter look at the transition compared to the smooth flowing version on the right thats an oem one

The only problem with the OEM is it sucks warm air in, do like AJs-s2k suggests and you have as good if not better than a lot of aftermarket systems
my suggestion for top set up on NA
smooth wall samco induction pipe
stripped out oem air box with resonator chamber removed
snorkel
3" cold air feed to box

i know its not to everyones taste but i honestly believe this would stack up against most aftermarket systems
Good point there mate, looks like the k&n drop in

Not exactly expecting much more power, but looking for more efficiency, smoother and crisper throttle response and something to compliment my Mugen exhaust and stainless exhaust manifold.
Have you considered a snorkel?

Not sure how it'll help TBH...

On a serious note, where can you get a snorkel for the S2000 from?

Hows it goin Stel, it's Ahmet.

Brian helped me fit my spoon replica snorkel which should do the job. (Although my bonnet latch is fcked so havent been able to close the bonnet to test it).

But a snorkel, new filter and a modified airbox (partition ripped out) should give you a crisper throttle and prevent heat soak.

Once I get the car sorted I'll take you for a test drive if you want.

Have an AEM V2 on mine, it sits fairly low down behind the front bumper so is well away from the engine in case of heat soak. Very happy with it and love the noise.

jack_ako I think Spoon recommends removing the plastic partition within the standard airbox (if you're running a snorkel / air ducting).

Spoon Sport recommends if you get their air duct, buy their filter and thottle body. Then you have a complete intake system.

No cutting or any other modification was recommended except the cutting of mud guard to allow for the fitting of air duct.

Is the spoon filter better than the K&N? I dont have the spoon air duct but think its a good copy of it, gets plenty of air.
Does the throttle body make much difference? I think i may start cutting the box then.
