Lee, be sure to post with details of who you eventually go with and what kind of job they do - I shall let you blaze a trail for me so that I know where to go in a few months when it's time to get mine done!

What are the optimum settings for standard suspension and is there any downside to running different to main dealer set up.
Any recommended garages in Buckinghamshire area for suspension set up

Yeah, my dealer pointed me to their other branch who had some super duper piece of equipment that the other branch couldn't afford.
Which Branch has the equipment for this BB ?

I think I might get mine done when I change the wheels back for the summer

It was Arnold Clark Honda in Killie mate. The Ayr one couldn't do the S2000 cos it's too low, but the Kilmarnock branch had bought some fancy alignment kit a few months prior so they sent me there.

I just pleaded ignorance (I'd thumped the driver's wheel into a big mound of mud on a semi-off and knocked the geometry out) and got it sorted for free.

I have to say that having the alignment laser checked on the S is one of the very best things you can have done on it to improve the handiling and all round feel.

Agreed. It can transform the car, so if you get the car aligned/set up, do it right.

I have driven a lot of s2s. There are a lot of dogs out there and many owners that don't realise just how bad their cars are.

Look in the tech faq for settings.

If you're going to deviate from Honda's settings good luck, but you'd better know what you're doing

I seem to remember reading on here that you ideally need to have the alignment done with fresh rubber - does that need to be all round?

I've got rears with a few hundred miles on but my fronts are 13,000 miles old. Do I need to wait until I change both in another 10-12,000 miles? Will it make much difference if I have it done with partially worn rubber on the front?

I'm contemplating the need for a geometry check but don't want to spend the money if it's going to be wasted.

If you have a 2004 car from new, you are the only driver and have not kerbed it and not had an incy wincy little off, then do not worry unless your tyres are wearing unevenly.
