This will showcase Honda's engineering capability and demonstrate that it could compete with the likes of Porsche...

Well if they do a paddle shift it had better be quicker than a manual, otherwise I'm not interested at all. I'm a big manual fan, but if the gear change is better in a paddle SMT/DSG type arrangement then I'd go for that.
Be interesting to see what engines they'd put in an S2000 sucessor though. |

I would love a S2000 type R! :dance2:

I'd have a F1 inspired Honda V10 reving to 17k. the thought is too much. must sit down.
I'm with Steven & Craig best get saving for the HSC. Today please Honda. |
Hmmm....HSC will be at a very high starting price, but hopefully NSX residuals will then plummet in time for me to get one. :D

There's one plus point - that means my next car (an Imola Orange '99 NSX 3.2 manual coupe, with smoked grey 17 inch alloys and black leather) will be down to a price I can afford come 2008!
I often ignore these comments from manufacturers about 'hasn't been a success'... they're always watching the pennies; I think the RS Focus was a loss-leader for Ford, but it's the best thing to wear a blue oval since the RS500s of the '80s! The S2000 is a brilliant car - so what if only 10,000 sold worldwide (or whatever the figure is)? Bravo, I say - makes us on this board the discerning few, rather than a big flock of stupid sheep (Audi TT, anyone?)! |
I can't understand why Honda think that the S2000 hasn't been a success? Surely that the reason they only sell so many of them per year is because they will only allocate 2 S2000s per year to each dealer!
|
Sounds cool, bet the new NSX will look like the HSC concept more of less. V10 mmm!
Just hope they give it plenty of poke and some steering feel |

But for cars, that's not such a dilemma, because then you get models which have a limited number of sales... and I'm delighted that the S2000 is one of these. If Honda only supplied 2 per dealer per year, how could any more people buy it?! Plus, I've always heard Honda UK saying it was "perfectly happy with the number of S2000s sold per year in Britain". So there we are! Good news all round. :D |
