Or maybe some heavy duty rubber mats like you get in 4X4's. Depends on how strong the spring is though.

im sure if you went over them fast enough (100mph +) then you would be well over them before they had had chance to spring back??

could you get the H brace you mention, get a sheet of say 2mm thick ally, cut it to the correct shape then drill and pop rivit it onto the brace forming an undertray ?
