Is allignment checked at service?
Hi all,
I'm going to look at an S this weekend and one concern I have after reading many threads on here is that is that the alignment will be out and the the bolts will be seized, hence a very costly repair.
Could somebody tell me if Honda check the alignment at services? The particular car I am going to look at has just had its 54k service.
Also any other points and things to check for on the car would be much appreciated (I have already read the FAQ and buyers guide).

not unless you ask and pay for it .
email the seller to see if he's had it done if he has he will have a print out of geo settings.
it is not the end of the world if they are seized, i had 5 i think, got cg to strip out bushes grease/replace ones that needed it, stillcheaper that what honda would charge for one corner.

Thanks Motogp1,
I don't think it has had a recent alignment check then as the seller was wondering if they checked this at service.
Are Honda dealers able to check this quite easiliy or is specialist equipment required?

For a car like the S2000 it's best to go to a spcialist who has decent quality alignment kit and who knows how to use it.

a decent garage would see the tyre wear and should inform the customer about their geo being incorrect.
in reality, alot of garages just want to see the bill at the end and get the next car in.
if the geometry is out by a long way (had a bump /not been setup after bush replacement), then tyre wear will be evident.
on road test check for pulling to one side, visually look at the tyres; are they worn funny.
rear tyres should wear dead even, since they dont do any active steering. at the end of the tyre-life, it might be acceptible to see one edge of the tyre worn more than the rest (inside edge). aslong as your looking at the last 2mm or so, thats fine. if the edge is completely worn away, with only 1/2 tyre life then it's safe to presume something isnt quite right.
saying that though, under/over inflation can cause weird tyre wear, a knackered shock or track-rod end etc, it's not just geo that causes bad tyre wear and possibly bad handling.
