Just wondering whether the Alpine units do display the time on their front panel ?

I haven't done any door speaker upgrade but I have retrofitted the Alpine 9847R into my S2000. The link to my fitting instructions are in the Technical FAQ maintained by BassOctopus.

As far as I am aware there isn't any clock on the 9847R, or indeed on any of the Alpine head units. If it does exists it's eluded me in my searches.

Aquilaeagle and I fitted his Alpine door speakers - we had to make a speaker spacer but I think we used the same holes in the door panel.

Some high end ones (like the INA) have a clock, but don't let that be the deciding factor
Make sure you get an R so you can use the dash interface!
Never used the Alpine speakers, IMHO there are better makes at that price bracket (boston acoustic, infinity, pheonix gold, genesis)

Try to have a listen before you buy. Rumour has it the infinity stuff is a bit bright with the Alpine in an S

Is that another difference between the MY02 and MY04 then as my 04 has a digital clock within the display?

Damn, issue number 2 we disagree on Mikey I find the Infinity speakers too bright (as do many).

I agree with you about the Infinity speaker being to bright with an Alpine HU, as that is what I have just had fitted which was recommended to me by the shop. What can I do about it??

Will an Amp improve things?
