Thanks all!.

Sounds like size could be a factor here?? (no jokes please!!!!!!!!!).

I just wonder if trying to use the longest blades possible (which I think are 20" and 16" before you start hitting trim etc) you get this. Never used to get it with the standard size Honda blades.

I've ordered some new blades through s2k here on the board, and he's supplying 20" (passenger side) and 18" (driver's side), both with spoilers.

I was concerned with the extra length on the driver's side, but when I look more closely at my current setup, there's at least an inch top and bottom to allow the bigger wiper.

thinking about what was said earlier here, I may have had oversized wipers on one side too ...and i think that was the side that was squeaking. I sold the car and I never got round to resolving the issue.

Oversized wipers of other makes never gave me a problem but maybe there's something in it with the Bosch blades.

Clean your windscreen with vinegar or something basic like that. Get everything off it.

Make sure the new blades have been similarly cleaned

Ensure its not te wiper arm iteslf squeaking

RainX is good for making the rain streak thus negating the need for wipers, its not for cleaning windscreens

Pretty sure it's the blade. I put my fingers on the windscreen where the passenger side blade reaches the top of its swing and you can feel the vibration in the glass where there is obviously some increased friction. However, could be the arm applying too much pressure (eg. if bent)???.

May try giving screen and blades a clean with glass cleaner (haven't done that for a while because of weather.........just usual car shampoo type clean). If that fails, may resport to Honda blades or shorter Bosch ones unless any other solutions come up!.

Is the mechanism free moving at the base of the wiper? the ones on the volvo had loads of crud in them which was stopping it pressing against the screen firmly. Just needed cleaning out and a bit of WD40.

The spring should hold it against the window with the correct pressure, so if it's free moving I guess thats ok. Tried it without the spoiler?
