Another BZ for DMS
I took my S to Dixon (DMS) last week to get Hardrace Toe Arms fitted, and the Geo carried out.
After some discussion, we came up with a setup (perhaps a compromise of our two opinions) which at first appeared to be very good...the car had shed loads of grip, and the bump steer had disappeared. A couple of hundred miles later, I decided I wasn't happy with the setup, the steering felt numb and the car dived alot under braking, so I contacted Dixon to arrange remedial action.
He very kindly invited me back to remedy the setup without any other customers present, so the whole day could be devoted to my S.
I took the car back to him today, and his setup is spot on...he re-jigged the ride heights, and adjusted the rebound/bump on the dampers (which for some reason were all over the place
) to what he knew would offer comfort and performance.
The car is excellent with a MUCH improved ride. There's no understeer, but a tiny hint of oversteer which suits me
(it was wet when we tested it). The grip is excellent...even in the wet, and the whole car feels exceptionally balanced.
...after all of this, he did not charge me for the work he did today...thanks Dixon
Highly recommended.
EDIT: Here are my settings:
Front Camber: 1°20'
Front Toe: 0°
Caster: 6°45'
Rear Camber: 2°15'
Rear Toe: 0°10'

Tyre wear is good thus far (Goodyear Asymmetrics), and the distinct reduction in toe (30' to 10') will only aid this, despite the increase in camber.
My previous damper settings were more suited to semi slicks, giving the tyres a harder life than they needed to incur.
If I were overly concerned about wear, I would have opted for 1°45' camber.

Tiny hint of oversteer?
That is definitely and understeer setup!! (assuming you are running the 17" stagger setup)
The lack of rear toe will make you think it's oversteer biased, but that'll just make it easier to power oversteer.

I tend to prefer that too; predictable-onset oversteer. Given the firmer grip form the wider front rims, that tends to be gentle-oversteer everywhere.
Mind you; I can still fine-tune the rear toe using this foot pedal...
