Unhappy And another question.....

....firstly, I apologise for the frenetic posting.

I'm excited and keep thinking of questions prior to collecting the car tomorrow.

Just a quick question - one of the lads at work today mentioned that I would need to check the oil every week when I take delivery of the S2K.

Is this right?

Thanks - i'm off to bed soon so you'll be rid of me in a minute!

Yes

You'll find this covered in the Technical FAQ:

It's recommended that you check it every time you fill up with petrol I think. I must confess that I only check it about every two weeks.

Thanks for that.

It's not an issue - just seemed a bit excessive to be checking it once a week but if that's what the car needs......

Do it until you get used to how much the car uses, under different driving conditions

Apparently so but it's not the end of the world if it's cold just get used to checking it as it can use no oil at all for 3000 miles and get you to low point on the stick after 300 in solid VTEC .

No. But it does mean you haven't been driving it for a couple of hours which, in itself, is quite upsetting.

My 05 used less than 100ml of oil in its first 1k (bought it new). If its been looked after it'll be easy on oil. Pre 04's use more apparently.

I only ever check it when it's cold. Normally first thing Saturday morning.
