Default Anyone here good at Paint Correction?

So my project Berlina is out of the bodyshop and on the road

I'm not happy about the amount of swirls and holograms visible after it has been amateurishly polished

I may attempt some correction myself but thought I should maybe seek help from the more experienced detailing enthusiasts on here

anyone local?

Whereabouts are you based? If its light swirls and holograms on a delicate finish and you aren't that experienced then a DA polisher will be your best friend.

I'm in Stockport,

I don't have a DA polisher you see so its all by hand. Wouldn't even know which one to buy or which products I need for the soft Honda paintwork.

I will be trying 1 panel today with my stage 1,2,3 meguiars to see if that helps.

If the paint is new I don't think it's a good idea to detail it so soon. Check out detailing world, they'll give you some sound advice. If its okay to do then a light pad and a light cut polish on a dual action will bring it up to a good standard. Don't forget to put a good last stage product on it after polishing.

If it's just come out of the bodyshop has it still got soft Honda paint ?

How long has it been since resprayed ?

Was the paint used water based 2 pack or cellulose ?

Cellulose need's too gas off and harden before you polish !! this take's 6 week's or so .

Water based should have been baked in an oven but some refinisher's will use 2 pack colour coat ( baked on )and a cellulose clear coat .

I would have been more than happy to polish your car but Kent is a bit far for you .

bootlid + rear bumper were painted but seem fine.

The NSR quarter was also painted and they polished the full side to match. But they obviously don't know a thing about polishing. I will ask them what paint technique they used.

I can see holograms all down the side and on the bonnet

Freshly painted panel's can not be polished if they used cellulose as it is not hard enough . It need's 6 week's to gas off .

I have had body shop's ask me how I get my paint to shine so much and it's purely down to polishing too soon after painting .

2 pack's are a different matter as they are baked on , either using an oven or , as in the case of smart repair's , a portable infra-red light .

It's unfortunate but the average body work repairer know's nothing about polishing and think's hologram's are normal as that's what they get from trying to polish day old cellulose .

Black is pretty unforgiving

It sounds like you need to know how they painted it

The mega DA is a good one I think, I have one and have no complaints.
