Default AP2 Interior

Hi Guys,

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did search but didn't get quite the answer I wanted. Can you fit the AP2 handbrake/gearstick surround into an AP1 is it just a case of swapping them over or would modifications be needed? I know you can buy a conversion kit but wondered if I found a written off one would it work?

Also if anyone has any close up pics of an AP2 centre section that would be great

Thanks

We've never had an AP2 over here. AP2 is the code for the US or JDM 2.2l engined car.

You need to use model years to denote the car. I'm assuming your asking if you can use a MY04+ surround on MY00 car?

Oh Sorry, get very confused with all the different codes. Yes I have a 2000 plate car and want to put the centre console out of the MY04+ cars into it, looks like it will fit as long as the connectors for the hazards and roof are the same

Indeed, and the centre switch is for the de-mister on the 04+, the washer jet button is relocated to next to the steering wheel. Also there's a leather section under the plastic bit, that I think is normally just capet on the pre-facelift I think?

Does the aluminium stereo door fit or can you get one for the earlier models?

Thanks for the help

They do fit with a bit of work and it's worth the effort IMO.

The silver/gun metal my04+ radio doors are a straight swop.

I haven't done it to mine as I bought a muz leather console cover, but loads of people on this site have done it.

I think it's a case of getting the updated connectors and re-crimping the wires. Ron (hypersonic) has done it so it might be worth dropping him a pm, there's a few more people on the uk board but I can't remember who.
