Default ARB's

Having upgraded the brakes, thought about a baffled sump...what's the thoughts on anti-roll bars, e.g.

http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/product...recnumber=58746

I wouldn't plan on doing anything else with the suspension, but would just fitting ARBs make a difference.

The above link suggests that for a RWD car then just fitting on the front could be a option too, thoughts on that?

What are you doing with the car? Track or road?

Mostly road, but 1st track day at Rockingham on 20th May.
I'm thinking I'll probably get hooked, but I'm not trying to turn the car into a pure (PJL like!) track specific machine.

So really just wondering whether ARBs would be worthy of consideration.

I'm with Mark

Unless you are tracking the car a lot ARB's are a bit of a waste on the road. Look at coilovers first, then when you've found their limit look at ARB's etc

The problem with the suspension is that you can make very valuable changes, much more so than bolting on

By all means improve the brakes with better pads etc, but i'd really recommend doing a couple of trackdays before you start messing with suspension etc. Get a feel for how the car handles now and then you'll have a baseline to compare it to when you start to change things.

Otherwise you'll have no real idea whether you've improved things for the better or just made the car ride harder but corner more slowly.

Sorting out the geometry will go quite a long way to improve things. And for that matter, so will sorting out the driver.

If you can go see Mr Gravity and Mr 1st Lotus before Rockingham, you'll enjoy yourself a lot more than you would by slapping on some ARBs.

I'm in two minds about the ARBs myself. I don't feel roll is an issue at the moment, but maybe with the geo sorted and more grip, it will become one.

Thanks for the advice.
Mr 1st lotus (Carlimits) doesn't have a date I can make, Mr Gravity is whom?

I think I'll end up sticking with the brakes until Rockingham and then seeing how it goes..this forum is encouraging me to spend way too much money

PS. The driver could well be past economic "repair", but he's keen to learn!
