Oh forgot to add that the S8 can be a very expensive car to run. Servicing is very very expensive, but the biggest expense will be bodywork repairs if you have an accident due to the alu body.

it's just a thought at the moment....hence the need to do some research.....

I am pretty much resigned to the fact that my sportscars days are over for a while now and looking at a 'barge'

I see Petrolhead Zero has reasserted himself.

How does the cost of running something like a thirsty S8 sit with your minimalist new lifestyle, Paul?

I like the A8/S8 as they are much more discrete than an equivalent BMW/Merc

The wife wants a 4x4 such as an Lexus or BMW....now frankly there is no way in a month of Sundays that I could ever contemplate spending the kind of money required to get into one of those

A used luxo barge such as the A8 would satisfy the requirement to have a big boot and passenger cabin but at a vastly reduced purchase price.....

All very early days at the moment but for

I raced one the other morning. Quite fast for a big barge. Most of its 360bhp is lost in weight but it was marginally quicker than the S.
