Default Austin Rover

Not sure whether this should be on or off topic, but what the heck, it's here

Came across a great site for all things Austin / Morris / Rover related - the Unofficial Austin Rover Web Resource
This isn't intended to prompt a discussion about anything, just a pointer to a site which has loads of info about cars many of us (admittedly older) folks grew up seeing on the roads.
My Dad had two 1800 "Land Crabs" - rallied in their day by Paddy Hopkirk, the second of which I bought after my first car, a Fiat 500D. Fantastic car, especially with the hi tech ICE ex-local pub Rediffusion speakers in the rear footwells
This was later followed by a Mini 1000 and a Metro, ahh, the memories!
I always fancied an Austin 3 Litre, but the lure of hot hatches (in the form of a Peugeot 104S) won out before I saw the light & graduated to Hondas with a Civic 1.5 GT, CRX 1.6i-16, & CRX VTEC before the S2000.

In fact I still quite fancy a concourse 1800, just for the memories (many of which are NSFW )

I used to have an MG Metro Turbo

Daft little car but great fun.

Never guess I was a bit of a boy racer 14 years ago Lasted me 6 years that did. 17-23 Last I saw of it, it was being carted off by the fire brigade for practice as it had been standing for a year and wasn't worth sorting out

My best mate from school ended up a Dentist, and the first car he had after Uni was Metro Turbo. I remember being mightily impressed with the red carpets and belts and those turbo noises Things have moved on a lot, but this was a big fun car in its day
