Default Automatic Choke

I have noticed recently that the revs on cold start seem higher than before, at about 1500 to 1600, it soon get down to idle speed when warmed up. Is this high and can it be adjusted simply without mucking anything else up? Advise would be very welcome.

Its probably because it's colder than before.

Doesn't sound too high to me, especially for a cold morning.

Normal and would only be adjustable with a remap, hardly worth all the effort to do that

Designed that way.
High speed idle, air pump on and enriched mixture.

Low idle with cold oil places unnecessary pressure on the cam lobes and other parts especially with cold, thick oil.
Its like that for a good reason, and yes its all ambient temperature related.
