Default Average speed cameras on M1

Trying to find out if anyone knows if the Average speed cameras on the M1 soutbound are back on and working.

They were only above one gantry for a while, then on Tuesday noticed they are now back above the second one !!

Only problem was I was trying to keep away from a DB9 vantage at the time !!

These are between junction 8 and 6 !!

Simon - are you actually saying you were speeding?
Is there something you are trying not to tell us?

I am just trying to think of the appropriate phrase here Simon but shall refrain from using it.
Shall ask a few questions at work see if anyone can tell me.

If by average speed cameras you mean SPECS then I think the company's own website has details of where their cameras are installed:

http://www.speedcheck.co.uk/index.htm

They don't list any installations on the M1.

No mention of SPECS, I take it that "Mobile Journey Time System" is their euphimism for SPECS?

If you click on the M25 North link then you can see them on the M1 section !!

The website states
"A Selection of Speed Check Sites. To find the different sites please explore the map."

Don't know how true this but I had been told they are Number plate recognition cameras.

I certainly wouldnt trust that map - its seriously out of date - surely??!

What about the SPECS on Watnall Rd & Nuthall Rd i.e from Basford crossing up to Oxclose lane in Nottm?! And the ones on the A630 in north Notts? I'm sure they're others (A52 for instance?).

Hmmm.
