Back in black
I hit the sack
Ive been too long Im glad to be back
Yes, Im let loose
From the noose
Thats kept me hanging about
Ive been looking at the sky
cause its gettin me high
Forget the hearse cause I never die
I got nine lives
Cats eyes
Abusin every one of them and running wild

Still burning off the oil mist, which disarms the overtaken.

This is one tight engine - more like 2,700 miles than 27,000. Don't people VTEC or something? The old one was quite noisy and had a 'blueprinted' quality to it. This is more like the old one, before the oil jet change was done. Dunno if that's significant, but something changed around then.

New one's had its jets done; they checked the record.

No better indication as to what went wrong; no over-rev,as I thought. No other errors recorded. Blind stag.

Engineer thought the rod might have let go first & slug hit valves going upwards, which might have also explained the tinkle & loss of power, before the big one.

But these were all just guesses; wouldn't help you if they could.

But it's all working, which is nice.

Good job Nick - must be good to be back in the S after such a long absence. Was the labour charge a ? Did they move over the newer ECU as well ?

Excellent news.

Might I suggest you do not try to re-enact the previous issue with this engine

Where did you get the replacement engine from in the end?

Batman style stealth, or is it James Bond.

Glad to hear that the flowing locks will windswept again.
