Default Back in an S2000 - blog

After selling my 04MY S2000 in 2012 due to becoming a parent and not using it much I went to an E90 330i M Sport which was not a patch on the S2000 for fun but it had more than 2 seats - I kept in touch with the local S2K lads doing track days in my Polo but having sold the Polo for parts I was heading towards the Lotus Elise route until I drove Rays S2000 at curborough and then got offered an S2000 for very little money from a mate meaning I could have the S2000 as a toy and the BMW as a daily (daily used loosely as that gets used very little as I cycle to work and the missus has a Touran so that's our family car).

Here it is:

It's in fact Rhauri's old car having passed through passed through 2 owners and in that time did a massive 1000miles!

I am loving being back in the S2000 and having only owned it for 3 days I have fitted the following:

4 piece OEM mats
Bridgestone S02 N3 tyres
Steering wheel retrim (obvious mod)
Armrest retrim
Gaiter
New gear knob
New air filter
Oil and filter change

Things on order are:

Koni yellow sport dampers
Eibach springs
BYS lower seat rail
Mugen bushes
Heated seats

Things in the pipeline:

Full paint correction (paint hasn't been looked after)
Rust treatment on the rear arch
Full geo set up when the suspension and bushes have been fitted
Tappet clearance set up
Exhaust mod

Hi, congrats.

Interested to know about your reasons for the koni shocks and eibach springs? After a quick look the shocks seem to be circa £500 for a car set. I'm interested because I have the eibach springs with standard shocks. For the total cost coudn't you get a decent set of coilovers instead?

Thanks - it's taken me a while to get the garage as it stands - even got my child hood model cars in there on the right hand side ;-)
