Do honda paint the back boxes black? when I bought my 2000 model the backboxes were painted black however half the paint was coming off and they was covered in tar. I went out and bought some black high temp paint. It took me a good couple of hours and some elbow grease to remove all the tar and paint. Once i had removed it all I thought they look better unpainted what are your thoughts do you think I should paint them black again?

Looks better without it imo, I used a brillo pad on mine before I fitted the HKS.

Cheers people I'll leave them as they are then. Best buy some more autosol then. Does anyone else get loads of tar stuck to them? Shame there are no arch liners on the rear

Get your marigolds on! I used a green scotch pad with plenty of autosol and on the bits with tar I used tar remover and a stiff detailing brush found it better with the bumper off too. Tried without and ended up with plenty of cuts trying to get to the top of the backbox

Looks better without but now you will get all the soot, tar, muck etc sticking onto them and they wil look more dirty more often than black ones.
