Default Bad Dashboard Rattle

The rattle has been here for about a week and it's starting to drive me nuts.
It seems so be behind the instrument cluster.

I have read all the threads here and nothing seems to sound the same as mine.

I can't live with this one so to the dealer or can I get into this puppy myself even though I am pretty unskilled at this?

This may sound strange, but check the rear view mirror isn't rattling. Some strange acoustic effects in the cabin.

And try unlocking the roof catches, again odd acoustics.

That's freaky, my dash got a really weird buzz/vibration on saturday!

Must be the time of year for it, only occurred at certain revs coming off the gas, sounded like it was under the windscreen vents?

Not heard it since though

I bet it's either the controls around the heater switches, or the rear view mirror. Mine does it ever since the exhaust mod. Need to 'sowt em aaaht'.

Doesn't percussion alleviate it?

It's often a wiring loom, and yanking those about a bit might help.

And whilst we're talking about weird noises, my drivers seat has started to creak & make cheap mattress springy sounds lately when cornering

Though this could well be down to the fact that I've become a fat cnut due to being off the bike all summer

Same here!! I've put it down to the drop in temperature - that, or that my back has become massive from nailing the gym.

I've stuck a folded up cloth behind the seats. Job done!!
