Default Battery issue

I posted up here just the other week about a battery issue, the consensus was that the battery needed replacing

Nipped to halfords after work yesterday, they found the battery for my car, but said they should come out to the car to check it would fit before I paid for it

It didn't fit, for some reason the positive terminal on the battery , is too far away from the positive lead from the engine.

Has anyone successfully installed a Halfords battery in to their S2000?

Any suggestions where I can get one that does fit

Thanks

Give Hendy Performance a call, 01489 774128

There is nothing wrong with replacing it with the OEM battery which is actually very good.

Should cost between £30 - £40 quid delivered.

Check out the FAQ on this forum; the product code at Halfords is wrong (live/neutral terminals are in reverse on the wrong battery code). They do sell a correct battery, its HB053 ; I bought one last year.

BTW: I get a discount at Halfords so bought mine from them but if you prefer OEM the Honda item is about the same standard price as halfords.

Honda is cheaper than Halfords (well it was 6 months ago when I replaced my battery) and I'd much rather it said honda than a very large halfords logo under my bonnet!

Yeah, Halfrauds have it all wrong, you have to get one that 'Won't' fit a S2000 so they say, for it to fit.

To confuse them even further try telling them you have a JDM car, and need either thiner terminals or cuffs.

Then leave without anything but rage.

Halfords are tits. My local motor factor found a battery that fitted, correct terminals and higher capacity. Lucky for me my neighbour is the manager and gave me 50% off.

Funnily enough the last couple of days my car has struggled to start (once running its fine) so I think the battery is on its last legs.

Just wondering if it will survive until tomorrow and get one from Hendy to get the halfrauds HB53? hummm.
