Default Bentley Continental R

I came up a bit quick one of the old-school Crewe Bentleys.

Guy decided to try to lose me on a roundabout (not a good idea!).

He then tried to lose me on a straight (not a good idea either!).

It was a bit like a car chase scene from (the original!) 'Starsky and Hutch.' Except the Ford Gran Torino had 1. More subtle wheelarch flares and 2. better handling.

What a strange vehicle!

Mercedes-Benz Actroses have huge engines in them too!

I think the mass and the frontal area x drag coefficient might come into play.

In certain parts of the country, I could buy property for that money, which would hardly go any slower!

Don't forget it weighs about 2.5 tons!

For a car so vast the performance is amazing though. 550 ftlbs of torque too.

An Actros must have about 1200 lbft @ what, 1200 RPM?

That's enough to pull a 32 tonne trailer!

The power/weight ratio is key here. As stated above, in that league, the S is still parked in the garage, in a county 50 miles away, whilst the Turbo R is ploughing to the finish line.
