Power: mugen, J's, or gruppe M.

AEM V2: Gains a bit of power - probably best if on budget.

IMO i hate HKS stuff.

Anyone know if the AEM V2 or K&N fit 06 and 07 models? They seem to be advertised as for model years 99-05 only... Cheers.
In answer to my own question and for the information of any 06+ owners looking at the K&N FIPK, here's the reply I received from K&N UK....

Personally I'd put decent filtration at the top of my list.

Nothing worse that a bit of grit scoring a cylinder for reducing power output + increasing oil consumption.

On an engine like this I'd rather not gain the 1hp and maintain full power whilst I have the car.

Hope this causes no offence, but I wouldn't use an HKS if you paid me.

My Evo came with one and it was off the car within hours.

Dangerous bloody things.

Its not even a joke when I say a pair of tights would provide better filtration!

When I buy a filter I want to know that it will filter first of all
DBM and I had this "discussion" in a previous post, we agreed that the filter was crap (it needs replacing every 3000 miles) and I will actually be changing the filter head for another design when the car comes out of hibernation...

So many HKS haters out there! By the way if you want to here the HKS, here's a little vido I took on my mobile!

DBM; I thought tights were great for filtration?!

grantedS2K,

Have you tried the 3 layer dry replacement foam element for the HKS?
These need replacing every 6~10 thousand km and offer better filtration I used these when I had a RSK on my old car.
The wet 2 layer elements need replacing 3~5 thousand km.
