Default !Beware!

Hi Guys, Just a bit of warning to you all about a well known seller on EBAY "VEETEC1" Basically i sold my integra in early january to buy my s2000,

In The begining - All Seemed Well

Now after it had been up for sale for a week or so when i recieved a call from Veetec1, he said he was interested in the car and wanted to know more. So i sent him more pictures and information about the car and eventually he wanted it.

so we agreed on a price, and he sent me a £200 deposit on Paypal. So far So good.

Things get a little iffy -

A day later He told me that his son was ill and that he wouldnt be coming in person to pick up the car instead he was going to send a truck to pick it up which i thought was strange because i would never buy a car without at least looking at it. Anyway later that week I got a call from him saying his delivery guy couldnt make it now and he is sending some one else to pick up the car, but due to the other guy charging more he asked if i could knock more money off. I thought the guy was quite genuine so we agreed and i knocked another £100 off the car for him.

The next day the Collection guy arrived 4 hours late, he had a quick look round the car. and then started to tell me more about Veetec1. He said that basically he is a Con Man and that he tries to rip everybody off. He told me that there was no other driver and that he is the only one veetec1 uses. He then told me that veetec1 has asked him to find faults with the car to bump me down but he said that the car is soo clean he isnt going to.

Now mid way through me talking to the driver i get a call from Veetec1, " he told me that the driver had told him the the seats were in bad condition and that i should knock more money off, Now i was stood with the driver the whole time and i knew he hadnt told him the seats where in bad condition becasue they wernt. I said to him that i wasnt willing to budge on the price as i knew the seat were fine.

So it came time to Pay and the driver handed over the envelope of cash. after i counted it numerous times it turned out to be £20 short of the agreed price. The driver made up the money out of his own wallet and said he wasnt suprised that Veetec1 had put less in as he does it all the time.

So we both signed the log book and i loaded up the car with the driver and he left.

Thing Get much Worse -

Now 2 months later i have just checked my paypal and im Minus £200. I looked into the name on the case and realised that the Cheeky bastard had tried to take his deposit back through paypal, claiming it was for an item he had never recieved. I have spoken to paypal and they have said I should get the money back but they havent confirmed anything yet.

So Im just warning you all that this guy will try anything to get one over on you. DO NOT TRUST HIM

I would have told him the driver was stood right there and that I knew he hadn't said anything about the seats. the deal would have been off

Jesus, thanks for the heads up.

Sounds like the guy is an asshole. As said above, I would have said "No deal" and "I'm out" in a Dragons Den styleeeee.

Common scam for buyers to pay paypal deposits and then claim them back. When I sold my last car I said to the buyer that the way it will go is, you look at the car and if you decide you want it we drive to the bank, we pay in the money to my account and we will do v5 in the bank, you then give me a lift home.
