Bit of a nightmare

I can virtually guarantee that the mechanics will not be doing a paint repair. And few dealers have their own onsite paint shop.
In reality, they will probably pay a chipsaway guy to do it when he's in doing other stock.

I would give the dealer 48hrs to respond and then go in and speak to them if you are sure that the damage happened whilst in their possession. For what it's worth I think it's a very good e-mail - it's not ranty or demanding but very calm and polite.
I had a new roof put on my car last week and asked that they noted and confirmed in an email any existing scratches / scuffs prior to work commencing in order that should I notice anything new there would be no debate about it - my dealer was happy to do this.
Good luck.

My local stealers make you sign a form when the car comes in to them, and when you take it away - much like hire car ones where they write down all of the marks on the car. Did you have to complete one of these - if so I rather suspect you are foobarred.

It's just going to come down to good will versus proof, don't lose any sleep over it. If no joy after a week then call chips away.
i was pretty sure Lookers in Nottm damaged mine so i never went back. the wing tab where the splash panel clips on had been bent and the paint had cracked. they'd been working in this area. they denied that too until i showed them the reciept. they were wankers about it and shit in general so i didn't lose any sleep over it

Well, fantastic news today.
Dealer called me and apologised for the delay getting back to me. Turns out the main S2000 mechanic noticed it when he was doing the work, and as they can't proove either way when it was done they have said the best option is for me to bring the car in and they will fix it free of charge for me.
Very pleased about this obviously, and just goes to show there are still some decent honest dealers out there !

I've spent the best part of 2k there in two years, so It's probably a good move really when you think about it.
I'd imagine the mechanic didnt mention it as in his mind there was a fair chance it had happened and I knew about it already.
