Default Blue Tips

Well I know its not to every ones taste but I love the burnt blue look on the end of exhaust tips like j's racing ones.
My question to you is how is it done (I presume heating with a blow torch or some thing like that) and would it be possable to do it to an allready finished exhaust?
I ask because I have seen an exhaust I want but with no blue tip's
thanks
Nick

Map gas, and clean the tips off to the cleanest you can get them, so you need to polish and spend a lot of time on them. It will change colour but time it carefully.

DIY i don't think you will get them a deep shiny blue.

Most you see are Titanium, this gives the nice blue hues.
You really need a big hot flame as AJ says - ideally oxy-acetylene (unless you have a furness)

Right i decided to have a go at doing this on my exhaust i have at the moment, it went quite well i had to try a couple of different blow torches before i could get enough heat. Needed to get it good and hot to really bring out the colours, i don't think i will try it with an expensive exhaust just in case, probably just fork out and get a j's.

I like just blue tips. The Amuse I have has blue tips and that looks sexy as IMO. Although that is titanium...

That is a bloody good job you have done though!
