Default bodywork ding dilema

hi all, had my s2k a few months..... already had to have some very small dings taken out of my boot (found remnants of some moss and bits I suspect dropped from roof guttering by birds on my car a while ago). Anyway, had them done and the guy who sorted them spotted another (not sure if done at same time). Can't believe I hadn't noticed it BUT now I have it's bugging me.

I'm getting him to have a closer look BUT I think it's inaccessible .... it's drivers side 'rear' panel high up about 2 inches down from top of the panel and probably 2 inches away from the door. Had a look and can't see how he could access it to push it out.

On the assumption he can't fix what options do I have (I don't want to leave it)?

Is filling and repainting (if done well) my best and cheapest option .... does some new paint on a 5 yr old car really make a major difference on resale? likely to be 6,7 or 8 yrs by the time I sell.

Does anyone have similar experience with having to have bodywork fixed/filled?

I assume a new panel is just not a viable option due to cost ..... it's also such a small ding it would seem mad to replace the panel.

cheers

Well, admittedly I am a tad lazy about these things... but if you hadn't even noticed it before I would just leave it?

If there is no access to the rear of the panel or if it is double skinned, you'll have to find someone who can do 'glue pulling'. It's quite an artform.

If you are anywhere along the south coast I can put you in touch with someone who sorted out my MX5 before I sold it.

I wish I could but I can't ... it really bugs me ... part of the ownership experience is having a stunning looking car and every time I look I see it .... just puts a damper on it. arrgh :-) ....I know it seems mad but it becomes obsessive even though in the grand scheme it's petty.

I'd wait till he's had a look before worrying about not sorting it, it's amazing what these guys can do.

Glue Pulling sounds interesting. wondered if there was a way to pull instead of push :-)

In North West but thanks for the offer Chris!

Martin - yeah really need his opinion before I go thinking about filling/painting etc. I just get so fixated by such trivial things and want to sort it. Odd really as I have some stone chips but they don't bother me I just accept them as wear and tear.

cheers

Anything can be done. They can hammer in nails, weld them in, then pull the nails to pull out the dent. Then fill the nail holes and paint.

That's a last resort. I had a similar dent on my old Boxster. Got it done for about £250, but the dent was fairly bad. Pretty good price for the work involved.

Either that or drill a hole somewhere in the doorshut or in the boot somewhere?

I understand the urge Just everytime I worry about something until I get it fixed, something else comes along and replaces it
