Default bodywork repairers

my osr wing is rusting and im planning to get it sorted before the cold of winter sets in again. it's in the angle between bumper and wheel radius; about a hand-width wide.
i think various dings on that corner have taken it's toll on the anti corrosion!

so, im after somewhere that can cut out, weld in new and spray a repair patch inplace in the midlands.
im guessing a classic car restorer is the way togo, there's one right next to CG actually but haven't yet got round to getting a quote.

i cant say c. 1k for a new wing thrills me and the car is 10, going on 11 years old now.
one generic bodyshop has quoted me around £150, but i'd like a few more to compare.

find a car in the scrap yard that has the part you want in good order and cut out a patch at least 2" bigger, if your lucky you can find a damaged pannel that has the bit you want undamaged that way you pay a lot less
any good body shop can weld the new part in as all it requires is cutting and stitching in
Phills2k turbo car still had its back wings on when he chopped it up, you might be lucky

Mr Veehexx. Steve Denton at StyleHaus in Northampton is excellent. He does all the custom VW's and has many years of experience. My front wings are getting sorted by him as Coventry is only about 25 mins from Northampton maybe worth it to pop in and have a chat?
You will see the high level of work he does with some of the cars there!

If PhilS2k can't help, I have a slightly damaged silverstone rear quarter that's going to be making its way to the scrap yard soon. Draw a diagram of the part you need I'll cut it out for you if it's not damaged.

I'd have thought £150 is too cheap to do the job properly.

The thing with rust is the longer you want it to stay away the further back you have to cut it out,

for £150 I expect they'll be doing very little with regards to getting back to good metal as I'd expect to pay at least that just to paint a panel

To give you a guide i'm having some work done on mine when it comes back from a new engine being fitted. Having both rear arches and ends of sills done is costing me £550 with a 15% discount on labour and paint.

For £150 i'd be worried about;
a) Not a good job
b) Colour match

exactly my thoughts on the cost - it was an approximation from earlier in the though...

colour match has be to good since it's on a panel that will reflect the light.
i'll grab the area i need with measurements and send a PM to those who offered help

i do know that area is double skinned, so it might be a bit more work than you expect, but i'll send more info and see what you think

thanks for the help and suggestions guys, i'll also give StyleHaus a call/visit too, see what they think

just been to 2 other places, the bodyshop next to CG and a local one - £500 area.
bodyshop @ CG was far more willing to say he can repair the panel. there so many places that will say no and want to go for a new panel - £510 retail just for that panel. double it for labour and spray no doubt.

one more togo; StyleHaus. seems they are closed at the weekend, so i'll have to try and get out over the week..
