Default Boot Question

Of late my boot does'nt spring open as high as it used to. Not a particularly dire predicament but i would rather it opened like it used to especially if i've got my arms full with shopping!! Does anyone know why this might be the case?

Looking inside the boot, there are two thin black metal poles that cross each other half way; are these in anyway related to the boot spring mechanism? If not what are they for :curious chin rub:

cheers

Yep they are the boot springs. If your unhappy you could buy the uprated springs designed for if you have a rear spoiler where the weight increase is too much for the stock springs IIRC.

Is the boot supposed to open all the way ?

When I open my boot it only opens about an inch or two (2004 Model,Stock).

Me too, although recently I've given up using the remote release.

Mine doesn't spring up the way it used to - I think I must have stuffed too much in the back, as you do, and this has affected the effectiveness of the springs.

Ditto for mine - alwats has. Unlike my neighbour's MB - that has a truly regal way of opening - slow, stately!
