Default Boot release from key fob

I've been lurking on this site for a while and found it incredibly useful, not least in establishing the whereabouts of the secret compartment! Anyway, now that I'm a member, just wanted to say and ask if anyone else has an intermittent problem with the boot release. Using the key fob, unlock the car then, once the lights have gone out, press the indented button again....Sometimes it works, sometimes it refuses to open the boot.

I find you have to wait about a second after the lights go out and 'click' the button rather than press it. I.e. as quickly as you can.

Works 9/10 with this method. Press too long and it don't, just flashes the lights again.

The chance of it working is in inverse proportion to the number of people watching.

The more people watching, the less chance there is it will work.

.........unless those people happen to be employed by your local Honda dealership, in which case it will work 100% of the time.

Max, I had some issues before x-mas after the dealership had it for fixing the immobilisor, though not so much intermittent. I found the connection under the steering column, transpiring that the connection was flakey. I replaced the spade and made good the connection. No bother since. If you or anyone else want a photo of the connection let me know and I'll post it within a few days of your requests.

Phil.

Hmmm, I had my immobilizer replaced because the alarm kept going off for no good reason. I'll try the 1 second delay as suggested by Sammy and if it still won't play nicely, I'll look into the connection issue.

Thanks
