You guys saved the day again!

Stopped working yesterday and before wasting any time looking at fuses and the like, I got on my computer and found a few threads on the forums that I'll post in. Unclipped and unwrapped wire loom, sure enough, yellow and black wire snipped. Decided that if there was stress on THAT wire and ALL the wires are the same length, I'd be better served to just cut/solder and extend all of them. Added heatshrink, rewrapped it in the loom and wrapped it with electrical tape. You can't even tell it was touched aside from an extra 2 inches of slack in the lines to avoid this issue in the future.

Here's the exposed break...I removed the left side trunk lining.

Here's the snipped wiring

soldered and done...well worth the hour long fix

all buttoned up

Clipped back in

the extra slack now

Thanks for the extra pics on this - you can never have too many with the trim removed

fellas, I agree, I felt like some pictures were a little vague so I wanted to try and make it a bit easier. not rocket science, but for someone that hasn't found it yet, it's not intuitive lol. i bet there is an army of people that are using the key to open the trunk!

Glad to see the old post is still useful. I have had some of the other wires go over the years so good preventive modification there.

The black and white wire you referred to in your original post is also prone to damage and is the boot lid brake light feed. So, if your boot lid brake light stops working you know where to look first!
