I thought my car was an import especialy with the jap style rear bumper but after sevral conversations with sevral insurance companys and a rather fruitless conversation ( suprise suprise ) with a bored woman from the dvla it seems my car is a uk import.

the notes in section 4 of the v5 say nothing about the vehicle being imported and the date of first registration and date of first registration in the uk are the same.

it does say in section 3 "was registerd and/or used. declared manafactured 1999 "

reg date is mid 2000.

I did query this with my insurance provider in a phone call making sure that my insurance was valid and that they were happy with all the details I provided ( honestly I hasten to add ) that it was a uk car and my insurance was valid.
I even got the supervisor on the phone assuring me that my policy was valid.

Bizarley I was calling it an import until I gave the reg to adrian flux to get a quote earlier this year and they said it came up on their system as a uk car.

it does have an ap1 vin no but I think it may have been one of the first officioaly imported into the uk that or its an import from ireland.

anyway I've had it over 2 years and the mot or road tax has never flagged a problem.

If it has an AP1-1* VIN number it is a JDM car.

Mine starts with JHMAP1 but is a UK car.....

Regards the oil filter, will get that sorted.

Can these VIN plates be purchased seperately/obtained from the dealer? As this one looks brand new.

Thanks,
Mark
Relax about the oil filter - it looks like a Fram filter and Fram make the Honda OEM one.

Oh, definitely UK spec S2000 because it has the VTEC Oil Pressure switch

Fram do not make the PCX S2000 filter, they are made by Toyo Roki or Filtech.

Chris.
Early UK car VIN plates are the same as JDM ones.
(found something Chris didn't know )

can these plates be replaced/duplicated though?

I'm trying to find out if mines an original or if there's chance it's a new one ( eg new front end...)

It just seems very/too clean :-)

Probably because you've just cleaned it, you daft bugger!

Mine's shiny too:

If your panel gaps are Honda-perfect, stop worrying about it!
