Default brake pad question

Just brought some brakepads for the front of the S, all is well apart from The 2 pads with the metal brackets on ( not sure what there for yet ) the backing plates have come unstuck, they were obviously just stuck on before as the glue is still there! the other 2 pads are fine and stil have the backing plates firmly attatched , is this just a case of sticking them back on again?

I ordered them offline and i dnt really fancy taking them back to be honest.

any help appreciated, Craig

They snap on and off, and they don't need to be used necessarily. I do prefer to keep them for replacement pads though. Non Honda pads do not come with them.

You dont stick them on either, what you have is the remains of the grease I expect.

You should coat the shims witha VERY LIGHT smear of COPPER GREASE before assembly.

This ought to help stop rust and squealing.

The top pads are how it should be,
The pads below have the metal hooks on without the backing plates
At the bottom are the backing plates which have become unstuck.

what im asking is can i stick these back on because these are the bits i need to copper slip when fitting

I thought they were kept in place by the dimples in the shims fitting in the dimples in the back of the pads?

So grease them and slap them back in.

thats correct they do sit in place via the dimples, but they were also glued on, as you can see on the back of the plate is the remainder of the glue

so stick back on and jobs a guddin ?
