I need a set of rear tyre but the Bridge Stone SO2 is now discontinued

what tyre would be a good replacement

I've heard it before (in the last couple of weeks) but thought it was just the Irish boys that were having trouble.

I asked my local tyre dealer this last week when I had a full set fitted, all of his suppliers had abundant stock of the S02 (even the fronts) so they found it hard to believe. They did mention that the S02 design is pre-historic though.

I think maybe the Porsche fitment is discontinued but the S2000 one is easy to get hold of still in England.

As I've been exchanging quite a lot of email with the nice man at Bridgestone (about MY04 tyres), I asked him about this.

The response is:

I thought RE050s couldn't be used on the 16" OEM wheels. Or are these a new version of the later tyres?

are you sure its these ES02JZ you asked about and not s02, just spoke to freind who owns own garage(and can supply all tyres for s2000 all years for good price ive yet to start thread with details) and hes says ES02JZ had not been discontinued.
