Default Bunny Hopping!

Hi y'all,

Just brought home my S2000 for the first time, and basically had a good blst around the Bath area. It was superb and can't wait to start life again with my new baby

But I have one question....Why does it bunny hop so much in low gears when moving off slowly from stand still at a traffic light. Every time I slow down in 1st & 2nd it bunny hops and the only way at the moment it stops is if I put more power down.

Any one shed any light?

Cheers

most on the forum will know that as kangerooing. its when the engine takes up hot air. a cold air intake will help loads!

But in this weather it shouldn't kangaroo that much. Maybe a gentle "tap" of the MAP sensor may help

Do a map tap, clean out the intake and fit a snorkle.

What sort of revs are you putting in when you pull away?
The S does need a few more than most cars.
Check the tension on the throttle cable as well.

Actually, I think you may have just hit the nail on the head. I have just gone out again and it seems I was changing into 2nd too quickly.,.....I seem to have solved it by at least getting to 3k revs before changing to 2nd gear.

Does this sound right?

You've got 9,000 revs to play with

I find that if you pull away in second I very rarely get a problem. Obviously pulling away in second you have to use a few more revs, so I think it's predominently rev related.

Can't say the Mugen CAI has helped with the kangarooing either.
