Default Burtman Dash Kits

Just received my Brushed Aluminium Dash Kit from Burtman Industreis. In the fitting instructions it states that 3M Prep Solvent 70 must be used to clean the surfaces prior to adhesion. This is a water based cleaning solvent. I can't find that product over here in the UK. If anyone else has fitted one these kits what did they use and are there any tips that they can give me before I start fitting it and undoubtedly swear endlessly. I have emailed Jason at Burtmans, waiting for a reply.

Avoid WKD Blue though, it leaves a stick mess.

Something alcohol based should do it as others have said but be gentle with it. The idea is just to remove any silicones or cleaning products from the areas of the dash that you are fitting the kit to so there is good adhesion.

Once its done, could you give a review/opinion of it in terms of how easy it is to align and fit and how it looks etc. and provide some pics?

They look good on the burtman website but in reality I have no idea.

I'd quite like one of these but have yet to bite the bullet as its fairly pricy once you add shipping onto it and if it looks tacky or doesnt go with the rest of the ally bits in 04/05 models etc.

Thanks,

Alex
