Default Buying an S2000

Hello Everyone!

Basically i sold my car a few months ago and am in need of a car. i have been looking for an S2000 for what seems forever. im looking for a GT preferably with a budget of around £9.5k.

Theres been a few ive liked but all seem to be silverstone, monte carlo or nur blue, which arent really the colours im after and arent getting me excited.

on two occassions though i have missed out by a matter of hours on the one i want!

The problem i have is due to the one yesterday!

it was a Yellow AP2 GT 53 plate with 32k miles from Petersfield, and the moment it went up i called to work out a deal as it was absolutely perfect in my eyes. i worked out a deal with him over 2 days but due to being at work i couldnt get to them or call to leave a deposit. i assured him i want the car and will call first thing today to leave a deposit over the phone. we even arranged a collection day and for the MOT to be done etc. this was around midday yesterday

When i called this morning to give the deposit he informs me they sold it yesterday afternoon. now i was gutted.. heartbroken in fact! he knew i was calling today yet let it go!

i know im going to see it on here soon and it will be the nail in the coffin. lol

now i am disheartend and ready to give up with my search as i need a car asap and dont want to buy just anything. i know i will just compare everything to this one!

it seems that people wait forever to find an s2k but i havent got that time! what are you opinions on what to do?

sorry for the rant but im gutted at losing this one.

There is always another car...

Question - Why do you need a GT?

I don't NEED a GT, I just think they look really nice with a hardtop and it's nice to have the extra security sometimes. Lol

You do know that you can buy a hardtop and brackets seperately.

You'll find one if you keep at it.

PS we don't have AP2s over here.

well i meant the facelift model. you knew what i meant though...

and i am aware that you can buy a hardtop and fitting kit seperapetly for a non GT car but its an expensive avenue to take and would be easier to just buy one with it already fitted

Did look pretty clean that one. Shame it sold, but then if you snooze you lose. Can't really blame the dealer if cash was waved under their nose.

There will be another one. might have to wait on yellow though

have a deposit ready at all times and be prepared to drop everything.

After viewing sereral mingers (it's a cat c but you'll never notice and oh yeah, did i not mention it was a stolen recovered)

I found the one I wanted, 300 miles away, not perfect but I made sacrifices and now slowly building it to my specs!

Sod's law it's just been advertised on Pistonheads right now!

yeah i know its not their fault. its just annoying that i had to work and missed out by a few hours after the time spent doing a deal with him and arranging everything for my collection.

is there likely to be more come up spring time as owners know they will get more money?
