I have been researching how to mount my video camera for track day use as well as for road use. I have come across the Ztech system but have looked at other possibilities too. http://www.ricks2k.com/products/ztec.php

I have come across an option which I would like to get some views on. I am thinking of using bullet camera(s) and my dv camcorder with av in. This would allow me to use externally mounted cameras as well as a mike or two placed strategically for the best sound. I understand I need to get a switch box if using more than 1 camera. So has anyone else already done this and if so what has been your experience?

Instead if you have used only 1 camera and mounted it to the back of the secret compartment how did it work for you?

One other option is to use suction mounted dv cam which can then be located in various locations inside the car with the DV cam attached directly to this system. Thoughts?

thanks.

I have used a bullet cam taped to my creash helmet on the bike , with the main unit in a bum bag.
The quality really is very good now, you do need to sort a power pack though, which in the S will be no problem.
There is a site that specifically sells this kit . will have a sort later for the addy.

When shooting forward the car mirror tends to get in the way but shooting backwards gives very good results

I also bought a Motrax bike mount for

Ok Ill have a look, erm tomorrow maybe if I get chance................I actually bought the multifangled clamp type one - bit like a clever g clamp

It used to clamp onto the back of the rear seat in the scooby, got some great shots (could see me, dash, and track).............hoping to do the same on the hard part of the hard part of the headrest maybe?????

I bought a camcorder with "analogue in" specifically so I could use it with a mini CCTV type cam (Maplins sort of thing), but it won't work - I would be very sure your combo will work together before shelling out for it.

I also bodged a mount thet sits on the front dash and suckers to the fornt screen - gives good results.

Rahula , thats the site

The quality really was excellent considering the speeds we were travelling at .
It was a crude set up though with only the cam and gaffer tape to keep it in place on the crash helmet .
