Methinks, someone's been spending too much time on the US side of the board.

does an HPI check check EVERYTHING ???

im considering getting a full AA check on the car before i buy the car.....

the AA check is 149 quid for the standard or 199 for the special check.... or an HPI check for 39.95...

which one would be better ? or do they both have their +'s and -'s ??

The AA physically inspect the car and report on faults and problems with it.

HPI provide you with a report on who owns it, whether it has any outstanding finance etc etc

You're trying to compare apples with oranges. You need both of them in an ideal world.

HPI checks the current owner, the past history, wether it's had any accidents or outstanding finance etc. It is fairly comprehensive.
If you get a HPI check, pay for the 'gold' service, which is like a guarantee against inaccurate info.

However, DO recheck it yourself before the 1 year end date is up.

I lost 4.5k on am BMW M3 evo, last year.

I sold the car a couple of years after I bought it & found out it had been written off (Cat C). Could I make a claim against anyone...HPI were only too quick to say my 1 year guarantee was up!!
This is rare, all I am saying is cover yourself!!

suppose spending 200 - 250 quid on checking a car is ok and free of finance before you buy it. i should just bite the bullet and just pay it and have peace of mind instead of buying a car and regretting it
