Hi Kevin,

I would definitely wait until your Zaino arrives before treating the paintwork to any finish. AutoGlym Super Resin Polish is just that - a polish i.e. it contains fine abrasives designed to remove oxidation, deposits etc. and so it can easily swirl paintwork. Perversely it can also be used to remove scratches as it is so abrasive it can cut the clear coat - handy sometimes!

Zaino is a non abrasive solution to treating paintwork and so is ideally suited to dark coloured cars who show swirls up most. There is no harm in leaving the paintwork unprotected for a week unless you live in the desert or on the seaside. Give it a wash by all means (clean water or even AutoGlym's car wash conditioner which I reckon is amongst the best products in their range) to keep the dust and road film off it.

I don't know if you have a Halfords on the island but if so I'd recommend you nip down and buy a bottle of Zymol's Cleaner wax to see you though 'til the Zaino arrives. It is a Carnuba wax based liquid wax that a lot of members have found gives superior results to the AutoGlym SRP.

Hi Tiff, no Halfords here. Mum lives in Surrey, will ask here to mail me some.

This is the first time i've become a member of a club, in fact next week will be the first new car I have ever bought. What a car though!!

Had 2 test drives, First: local Derek Warrick Honda Dealer. for 2 hours round the island a grand total of 36 miles, yes 36 miles, one decent road for a blast but still 40 mph speed limit. Second:` Second hand car 1999 model, did notice a lot of transmission noise in decelerating though. Hooked after hook line and sinker!! Can't wait till Monday, feel like a teenager again

Yours Jamman Jersey

Kev, that will be the clutch spring thingy. There is a Service Bulletin for upgrading the clutch. It is one of the common warrantee jobs. Symptom is a loud buzz slowing down through 4,500 to 3,000 rpm. The Honda dealer should be told about this, even if it is Derek Warwick . The SB no. is 055 I think?

While visting my local dealer recently, the service manager mentioned that he had fitted IIRC a gearbox and clutch under warranty for an S2000 owner. The Derek Warwick dealership had told the owner that the noise was normal and that they all do that
