We'll prolly go with something jap for first car, dead cheap, then go from there

I would recommend a small car with some "feel". It is very hard for a learner to understand what they are supposed to be doing with a Toyota, as inputs make no difference.

I'd vote for Clio or 106. Can pick one up for a song, they're good cars (if you keep them serviced) and have more driver involvement than a cheap small Jap car, hopefully teaching her instinctive car control by feedback from the car.

They're also easy to sell once she's bored. Learner drivers and students always want Clios and 106s, and then occasionally a boy racer would take one off your hands too.

Ive got a blue fiesta, 65k, two previous women owners before me. Its got two dents, one on either side due to cars in my carpark not really making much of an effort to avoid it when reversing out. (i did get them to pay money but didnt spend it on the fiesta)

Not arsed about feedback and all that. She needs to get from a to b.

Due to the dents on the door i cant sell it, and wasnt going to (simply give it any freind who happened to need a donar car) but it seems just as easy to sell it for
