Default Car Wouldn't Start

When I tried to start the car earlier on, I slipped off the button after one turn. When I pressed the button again, it wouldn't fire. I left ot for a while in case I flooded it. After a few minutes, it would still spin, but not fire!

After scratching my head for a bit, I called the only S2K expert whose number I have, step forward Mr Loftus. After a bit of head scratching at his end, he recomended that I disconect the battery, leave it for a minute, to reset the ECU. After doing this, it started on the first spin!

Just goes to prove that most things just need a reboot

Seriously, does anyone know what caused this?

Oh, and last but not least, thanks for the help Lofty, much appreciated

I am mortally offended that I do not come under S2k expert in your head, I have done lots of wonderful things with Yoshi. Undercar lighting, decals, fur..........

Oh ok

to Lofty

Unfortunately a reboot was a vital step left out of our implementation today (despite it being one of the tasks - RTFM ), which is why I have to get up early again tomorrow and won't be going to anyone's meet tonight

Always happy to help Paul...not sure I'm considered to be an expert by many though

I'm familiar with Ferranti resets, hence why the idea cropped up

Many of us bow to loftust's superior knowledge.

I am a technophobe but have been amazed how this trick works for mobile 'phones and even cameras.

It could well have been the immobiliser playing up.

But you weren't using it

It was indeed user error I think, I only allowed the car to turn once before slipping off the starter button. It did something to the ECU/immobiliser.

As of last night, I now have 10mm and 14mm spanners in the car, just incase
