Default Be careful out there

Just a heads up for others owners. With it being Friday the 13th I thought I'd share my story.

Had to drive to work this morning so I thought I'd take the S2000. There was a bit of frost on the car so it needed deicing.

Making progress along a local B road, I could see grit on the road so I sat at 50mph in a 50 zone. 8mm of tread on all tyres etc so all safe in my opinion.

Partial/low throttle cruising along with the usual Audi A6 pleb behind me trying to goad me in to going faster.

After driving over the brow of a small hill I turn in to the slightest of corners, on the exit I feel the back end starting to slide out.

I'm no stranger to over steer so I instinctively counter steer a tiny bit without letting off the throttle or braking. The car straightens up without any tank slapping (thank GOD!)

The Audi behind me bricks it backs off about 10 car lengths. At this point I've been woken up fully by a dose of adrenaline

I know this happens frequently to some owners but I soon realised that if I wasn't paying attention, or I did something slightly differently I could have easily slid off the road, through a dry stone wall and in to a field.

Really love the Honda but its so easy to stack it in the right conditions.

Drive safe everyone!

Ben

I do like the thumbs up. Even if it is an accidental slide

unexpected slide recovery always gives me a big grin
it's just nice to know that you can catch it when the unexpected happens.

Didn't get the shakey leg after, that's when you know you've made an epic save

Now is the season of our discontent...
Roads are icy and cars get bent.

So pleased I did a Carlimits day - vital experience to feel the car slide in a safe environment

I had a similar incident in mid December, I was taking a mate home after he had been to the pub. It was that one day we had where we had snow in Cheshire, anyway, I had to drive down this 30 mph road that went past my old high school, (so I knew the road well) it did seem to slip my mind that they dont grit this particular road, I was doing 20 mph in 4th gear so I wasnt gunning it and the S still proceeded to get the back end out, this ended up with some impressive one handed correcting
