It's when it wakes up and decides to sharpen it's claws that you have a real problem.

Well thay're all VERY useful tips

I have had a variety of cats, including my own, that find my S an appealing place to nap, I got rather obsessed with the problem for a few months and went a bit mental.

I tried the usual scents (get of my lawn spray, citrus stuff etc) with no success. Harsh language also didn't work

Then I made a roof cover from toolbox liner, a very light foam rubber. Then I threaded cable ties through so they made a spikey deterrent - unfortunately not uncomfortable enough, it's crazy what cats will put up with!

Finally I went 'nuclear' & bought an ultrasonic cat scarer, but made a few mod's to it.

I interfaced it to a car washer pump/bottle so that whenever it was triggered it sprays the roof in 3 second bursts.
This they really don't like, but there is the possibility of 'friendly fire' as the sensor also detects humans; such as postmen etc so can't leave it on during the day!

One thing that may be easier than all this; put a nice blanket/cat bed somewhere near to tempt them away, perhaps with some treats in there?

Good luck!

Just remember; if you feed & look after a dog, it thinks you're god.

If you do likewise with a cat, it thinks it's god. You won't win...
