Default cell light!

high guys i was just woundering would the removal of the entire aircon system produce a cell light? at a guess i would of thought so right? its just that i had my car repaired and when i got it back the cell light was on so i took it to the dealership and had it tested and they said it was the airpump (thats as far as the test got because it found a fault at the air pump) so i had the airpump and relay etc replaced and the cell reset and the cell came back? now when i had the car repaired i had the aircon removed as i didnt reguire it, so am thinking the cell light is coming from the aircon point as its not there, i could be wrong though and just thought id ask for some advice before hand because i dont want to keep taking the car back and forth to the dealer for testing! just to find out its the aircon in the end. all fluids are fine car drives fine just theres a cell light on? can you buy the equipment they use to test it? would save me a fortune! or does any one no what its called what they use to test and check the cars and ill try and find one myself

thanks in advance

High.

Cell light, is that the one behind bars?

Dealership don't TEST anything for a CEL light, they just plug in a code reader and that should tell them.

Aircon has nothing to do with CEL lights.

A3lkx - can I suggest you make a new post with the problems you have listed in your other post also. It makes it a nightmare trying to work out what is going on otherwise, as the 2 posts may be related.

You need to explain what has been happening historically with the car (mods / servicin etc) and explain what probs you have.

I will delete these 2 for you.

Are you getting confused with the airpump (front left hand side) and the aircon? Why would you remove the AC system?......Perhaps you are trying to say you had the airpump assembly removed after the accident rather than replace it?

Was the mil (cel) light still on after the air pump and relay were replaced? if so, what might have happened is when they replaced the pump and relay they got the multi plugs mixed up, its posible to swap the multi plugs round as the relay and pump are next to each other and the plugs are the same, this will pull on the mil (cel).

I had this very problem after a bodyshop had done a body repair they also changed the pump and the relay to cure it when it did'nt they came to me to just swap the plug's around!
